Among the easier excursions to do at the National Pollino Park, there is the visit to Morano Calabro, the villagefamous for reminding to a nativity scene and for its characheristic cascading houses, which make it to be among the 100 most beautiful villages of Italy. Maratea is another place to visit for its historic center and the Cristo di Maratea: placed on the high on Monte San Biagio, the highest part of Maratea, with its 21,13 meters of heigth, this statue can be seen from all the Policastro bay.

Around Marina di Maratea, it is nice to visit the beach of Cala Jannita, also known as Spiaggia Nera (Black Beach) because of its dark sand and blue sea. Nearby there is also the Grotta della Sciabella, surrounded by ancient and mysterious legends.
